If you haven’t been to Library II in Voorhees, you’re missing out on one of the state’s most unique dining experiences.
The interior is dark and cozy, and the walls are lined with books.
If you prefer, you can even sign it, check it out, and take it with you when you return. This place has been around for decades but was completely closed during the pandemic.
New owners bought the place during COVID and reopened in April 2021.
I haven’t been there in years, but recently went there.
The place looks exactly the same, with minor updates and good maintenance.
The owners are the same group that also own the legendary pub in Pennsauken today.
They’ve upgraded their meat and seafood selections and still maintain a huge salad bar that’s included with every meal.
The salad bar has a wide variety of breads and cheeses and is more abundant than anywhere else.
There were once four library restaurants in South Jersey. Only two remain. Another is Library IV in Williamstown.
This Voorhees location was once Saddle and Spars, and before that Rafters dates back to 1947.
The original Library Restaurant is located in Morristown and closed decades ago.
The new Old Library II is worth the drive from anywhere for a date night, family dinner, or drive with a group of friends.
Located on Route 73 North, a few miles south of Exit 4 of the NJ Turnpike, on the way from Philadelphia to the heavily traveled AC Freeway.
The food and service are excellent and the atmosphere is second to none.
There is a cozy front porch for eating or hanging out when the weather is nice.
